Knowledge Exchange Workshop: Reinventing Public Service Media for the Age of Platforms

Can public service media (PSM) remain innovative, independent, and competitive in the platform era?
Join this international knowledge exchange workshop where scholars, media practitioners, and leaders from the film and audiovisual industries will explore new organizational and cultural models for the future of public service media.

We invite public service media professionals, audiovisual experts, scholars, NGOs, and anyone interested in the future of media in Europe.

Kicking off at the Zachęta Gallery in collaboration with the REBOOT project, this afternoon session will set the stage for a discussion the film and audiovisual industries. The session will also delve into PSM ecosystems, focusing on production, distribution, and the competitiveness of audiovisual content in the platform era.

Keynote Speech: Sasha Scott (European Broadcasting Union)
Presentation of PSM-AP research findings on production and distribution cultures in European PSM.

• The European Media Freedom Act and its implications for PSM independence.
• The citizen-state relationship in the context of PSM governance and funding.
